Team Hc Alpines manager Anthony Leutenegger writing his yearly season end press release:
I'm quite happy with the end result of season 21 although I still believe we can be better. The results were as followed:
Spiridon Apetri (Sprinting Captain): 5 results, 1 win, 2 3rds, 2 top 9 Classics.
Bartoli Edo (Climbing captain): 5 results, 2 seconds, 1 3rd, 7th in Tour de Monte Rosa, 7th Ainet-Bruggen.
Cary Shutts (Sprinting lead-out): 8th in Helsinki GP Classic
The team did well and started to pick up more points by being more consistent in the latter end of the season. Originally we had some serious issues, either we placed or did horribly. Consistency is key! Bartoli is still looking for an elusive win and Spiridon didn't live up to his WC potential. I believe this year will be different.
Currently we are sitting at a team high 1,230 points in 78th world tour rank and 1st in Canada. We have both our Captains healthy and are training Joos Lahaye to become a dominant Hilly sprinter. The goal by season end is a minimum of 1,500 points and we believe this can be done with the talent we have.
